Excellent impression with beautiful clarity of line, from the only edition of 60 signed and numbered proofs.
Molen, or Mill, shows a watermill in the Netherlands. This is one of a number of wood engravings which George Mackley made of Holland during the 1960's. These mature works show Mackley's absolute mastery of his medium, acquired over a lifetime of experience in wood engraving.
On smooth simile Japan paper, with full margins and deckle edge. Very good original condition. |
