Original Francis Seymour Haden drypoint.
Very good, strong signed proof impression with burr. Scarce.
The view shows Corfe Castle which stands overlooking the Dorest coast.
R. Gutekunst, the dealer who inherited the rights to sell all of Francis Seymour Haden's remaining prints upon his death had only 20 impressions of this print available in July 1911; a figure which reduced to 16 by October that year. This stands in stark contrast with the majority of Haden's works, of which between 100 and 200 impressions of each were available at that time.
On quite thick laid paper with full margins and deckle edge. Excellent original condition. |
