Excellent signed proof impression, inscribed by the artist "pattern".
Peter George Sloane (b.May 1918 - d.2004) was the son of J. Sloane. Dated 1920 in the plate, this early proof impression printed in brownish-black ink shows the fresh drypoint work printing with considerable burr.
One of the artist's own working proofs which came from her studio after her death. On cream laid paper with full margins and deckle edges. Laid on board at sheet edges, apparently as prepared by the artist herself. Generally good original condition for a proof of this nature, with some marginal discolouration and surface dirt to sheet. |
