Lumsden’s minimalist use of line in this work echoes the exquisite simplicity of Whistler’s finest etched works. Executed with practised confidence and yet with great delicacy, this etching ranks amongst the best of Ernest Stephen Lumsden’s Indian plates.
On cream simile Japan paper with wirelines, with good margins. Very fine original condition. |
