Original Alec Buckels wood engraving.

Signed proof, prior to issue in the periodical Number One Joy Street (Blackwell, 1923, p.62).

This engraving was made to accompany verses by B.K. Pike, entitled Friendless:-
I want a wiry pony / With a wild dark mane, / Who'd gallop me / To Anglesea / An’ then come home again.
I want a yellow doggie / With a wet black nose, / Who'd bathe with me / At Anglesea / An’ lick my little toes.

On cream laid paper with full margins. Faint trace of previous creasing, otherwise very good condition.
