Once again, Split Willow demonstrates Charles Chaplin’s fascination with the many and varied forms of trees. In particular, it was the structure of trees and their branches, rather than their foliage, which fascinated this artist. A fine, atmospheric early work, Split Willow displays the artist’s considerable ability with a variety of printmaking techniques.

On heavy cream wove paper with margins. Scored line in outer right hand margin. Mat line in outer margins, otherwise generally very good original condition.
