Fred Richards was an outstanding architectural and topographical etcher. Fred Richards trained under Frank Short at the Royal College of Art, becoming elected Associate of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers in 1913 and a full member in 1921. Some of his finest etched works come from his sojourn in Italy during the mid-1920’s.
