Isabel de Bohun Lockyer was one of the few artists outside the Grosvenor School to use linocut for colour printmaking in England at this time. Printing in water-based inks, her linocuts have the appearance of colour woodcuts. A number of her works depict views in Switzerland and Dalmatia.

The Château de Gruyères sits at the top of the Swiss town after which it is named. Famous worldwide for its distinctive cheese, Gruyères also boasts the Château Saint Germain, home of the late surrealist artist H.R.Giger, whose works it houses as a museum.

On soft simile Japan paper with full margins and deckle edge. Some minor creasing in margins, otherwise generally very good original condition.
